STORY OF THE FIRST URSOS REUNION AT BASIAO UBAY BOHOL

The great warof 1940s has broughtdisplacement of the Ursos Family.

Sergio Ursos was recommended by her mother Inay Juana  to work at the Cavite US Naval Base  where the family of Inay Juana - the Roca families working at the US base at Sangley Point 
Laer on Sergio Ursos was promoted as the Petty Officer of one of the US Naval warship





But after someyears... Sergio Ursos was transferred to the Pearl Harbor in Hawaii

During the daring Japanese Navy attack in Pearl Harbor..  Sergio Ursos was there..... gasping to survive

AMANDO URSOS AND HIS SONS
While Sergio was in Sangley Point US Naval Base  Inay Juana requested hi son  Amando to go to Butuan City for the purpose of claiming the lands of Inay Juana as one of the heirs of the Dumaplin family tthe lands located in Butuan City

But when Amando Ursos reached Butuan.. the war broke out  the japanese army attackedMindanao

 

 The US Army recruited Amando Ursos and he was enlisted as one of the filipino warriors under theUSAFEE Forces against the japanese army



Colonel Fertig of the USArmy, the commander of the batallion where Amando Ursos belonged



 Butuan City was under attacked by the japanese army.
Colonel Fertig ordered his men including Amando Ursos to retreat in Kasapa to join the forces of the US army based in Sta Ana Davao headquarters

KASAPA FOREST serves asthe perimeter defense of the US Army of Davao from japanese army from Butuan


Kasapa River was the route between Butuan and Davao US army headquarters at Sta Ana




The Barobo Airfield  serves as the alternative area of General Douglas McArthur if Leyte cannot be taken by force of the US Navy. and it will serve as the emergency landingarea for the US B-29 bombers



B-29 bombers of the US airforce was designed for emergency landing and take off in the corn fields thus Barobo air field was very important for General Douglas Mc Arthur

Amando Ursos was one of the soldiers of the USAFFEE  platoons to secure the Barobo Airfield (actually it was simply a cornfield in Barobo somewhere in the present day Kutlog Barobo and Alegria of  SanFrancisco Agusan Sur besides this area is accessible through the forest Tagglikid and Ebro and Mt Diwata from nearby Camp Kasapa of Gibong and Agusan Rivers


 
....Taglikid was the route of Amando Ursos from Kasapa to the Barobo Airfield through the forest of Mt Diwata along the Manag-as creek. After the war.....Taglikid became the second home of the Ursos family from Tagaluahan Basiao Pitogo Bohol

Benjamen Ursos was the barkada brother of Sergio ursos and Amando Ursos because they were of the same age Albino and Dorot were elder brothers

After the great war SergioUrsos and Amando Ursos have correspondence letters through the militaey courriers

In his letter Sergio Ursos asked Amando where was Benjamen by now?  Benjamen Ursos was missing .. said AmandoHows Itay Iyong and Inay Juana then?
Our parents are still in Tagaluahan 

Iwill be going home and I will find Benjamen please help me to find his whereabouts?

Before I came to Butuan  Benjamen Ursos was in Negros Island where  Cadong Ursos served as a pastor within the area of coverage of Silliman University
Ok when icome home Iwill find him and we will have  our First Ursos Reunion We will roast a  cattle during the reunion.. Maglechon ta ug baka.. sagot nako nah  said Sergio Ursos.  When?  asked Amando...  It will be on January 1957 at Tagaluahan Basiao Bohol
